The First Victory Of Poland Over Germany In Football

Germany has more bad news than just the recession it is going to face. The Germans have been used to the success all these years but this time Poland won against the world champions with a 2-0 in the qualification match for European championship. The Polish team made history in the world of football.

Over 81 years, the Polish Team has never beaten the Germans and this is the first time that they did in all of the 18 matches played in all between them. On Saturday, the fans went back home stunned of the occurrence. This victory has put the Polish team in a new view and gave them a turnaround in the world of sports. This year the polish has had a lot of victories over Germans in national basketball, volleyball and handball. The Poles even won the World Championship in volleyball as well as the winter Olympics.

Over the last century, Poland has had success in spots al lot more than they had before and this is the reflection of the success the country has had in both politics and economy. The once bankrupt and hyper-inflationary nation of 1989 has now become Europe’s one of the most successful economies having more than 20 years without any recession and is also a member of NATO.

Even after having this kind of economic stability, Poland is still poorer compared to Germany. The GDP in Poland is less than the Germans and it is very necessary for the Polish to invest more into innovating and improve the education by implementing better things in Universities. The new prime minister of Poland Ewa Kopacz should make efforts to recreate the warm relationship that Mr. Tusk had with the German chancellor Angela Merkel.

The victory of Poland over Germans in football has blasted a new dimension in the sports world and they are ready for the new challenges that they are to face in the future. Gazeta Wyborcza, a respected newspaper read “Poles, something has happened” after the victory.

McCoist Thinks Templeton Can Win Championship

Ally McCoist, the manager of Glasgow Rangers, has said that David Templeton can take the Scottish Championship by storm this summer if he manages to remain away from the injuries.

Templeton’s services were grabbed by McCoist a couple of years back in 2012. He had paid 700 thousand Pounds to Heart of Midlothian to buy the winger. It was a new record in terms of the transfer fee being paid to a fourth division club ever.

But, Templeton’s stint in Glasgow has mostly remained affected by injuries and he has just played 40 odd games for the club so far.

Groin injury is something that he has struggled with a lot recently. Even in the previous season, he had been out for about 10 weeks because of the problem in his groin.

He made his first appearance of this summer last week against Hibernian and he looked okay fitness wise in that game. He was used as a substitute and he was impressive. He helped the Rangers secure a 2-1 win there.

Talking about him yesterday, McCoist said, “David is someone whom we are certainly expecting to deliver. I believe he is the most gifted player around in the Championship. He can do things that no one can do. Till now, he has been a little under par here at Glasgow, but, I need to be fair to him. The injuries have just not let him settle down.”

“What we are hoping this time around is for him to remain fit throughout the season. If he is fit, I am sure we will see charismatic performances from him. When in form, he is a delightful player.”

Templeton has not played senior international football to date. He has represented Scotland only at the U-19 and U-21 level.

MESSI WILL STAY AT BARCA

There have been suggestions in the last few weeks that superstar Lionel Messi is happy at Barcelona both with his form and the club as a whole. This rumour comes up at a time when Barcelona have been going through crisis after crisis. After investigation surrounding the arrival of Neymar for the last few months, the club have been knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage. They suffered this 2-1 defeat on aggregate against Atletico Madrid that prevented from reaching their eighth consecutive semifinal.

Messi was largely anonymous in the match, as Barcelona appeared to play a tactics that did not suit him in both legs of the semi-final. As a result, there have been rumours that the superstar, who only recently signed a long-term contract, is unsettled at the club. Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has been quick to deny such rumours by saying that Messi is not worried about the season unfolding in the worst possible manner. After the Champions League exit, Barcelona suffered a major setback in their ambitions to retain the league title after the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Granada.

Andoni Zubizarreta also chose to be conscious with his words when it came to the future of manager Martino, with whom the fans are displeased after the latest round of results.

“There is nothing wrong with [Messi]. He is happy with the club and with his teammates. His problem is that he has spoiled us. He is happy, training well, physically fine. He knows that football sets you challenges every week. Talks on his new contract are going reasonably well,” said the sporting director. “To fulfil his contract is to fulfill his contract. [Martino] has said he will do that. [Pep Guardiola] told me he would not be staying in May,” said Zubizarreta regarding Martino.

BALE SETS THE PACE

Real Madrid’s €100 million signing Gareth Bale took a while on settling into the Spanish team but in a gradual pace he has been doing it and this has become more evident in the recent few matches that he has played.

The Welsh player provided a beautiful assist for Benzema which allowed the Frenchman to score the opening goal of Real Madrid’s match against Atletico Madrid some days ago and previously to that match, Bale was one of the star players which scored 2 goals past Schalke 04 during the Champions League 1st leg.

Gareth Bale also proved his worth during Real Madrid’s encounter against Elche as he scored a 30 yard screamer that helped his team on securing a 3-0 triumph. All of the contributions made by the Welshman have pushed forward Real Madrid on this season as they are fighting not only for the Spanish league title but also in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League and according to Bale, Real Madrid wants to win it all.

“There’s a lot of expectation here. We’re the biggest club in the world. We want to win every game and everybody expects us to. There is expectation but one that we all like, we’re all winners and we want to win every trophy that we’re playing in.

“We’ve been very good but we can still get better, and that’s the plan. We’ll take one game at a time and hopefully win the Champions League. “Bale said.

Carlo Ancelotti has proved to be the right man to lead the charge for Real Madrid as he took charge replacing Jose Mourinho and now the Italian coach has tough challenges ahead of him as he has to help Real Madrid on restoring their glory days of some years ago.
