Ireland Women’s Training Squad For WRWC 2017

The team in Ireland Women management has confirmed a strong panel of 48 to prepare players for the Women’s Rugby World Cup (WRWC). The World cup is taking place in Ireland and will start in August 2017.   

Now it is less than 100 days left to kick-off the tournament and the announcement of training squad came in. These are the players who will probably represent Ireland in the series in August.

The new training panel has 13 players with experience of the World Cup, the panel members includes Claire Molloy, Niamh Briggs, Marie Louise Reilly and Nora Stapleton. These players are hoping to get in the third World Cup that is going to start in August.

The team of 46 members has international experience, among which 16 team members have lined out for Ireland at Sevens and 15-a-side rugby.

The players from eleven clubs all over the country, in addition to Exiles Sene Naoupu, Deirbhile Nic a Bhaird and Molloy will make up the panel.

Women’s All-Ireland League (WAIL) top four squads are well represented. And the Railway Union is leading with 10 players. The names of the players are Lindsay Peat, Stacey Flood and Sisters Kim.

From the Old Belvedere there are eight players coming in with the vast experience. The names of the players are Ailis Egan, Jenny Murphy, Alison Miller and Sophie Spence.

UL Bohemian, who has been crowned as champion of All-Ireland League have six players in the team. Names of those players are Captain Briggs, Anna Caplice and flankers Ciara Griffin and winger Eimear Considine.

Six representatives of Galwegians are also there in the team. The names of the players are – Nicole Fowley, Mairead Coyne, Ruth O’Reilly, Mary Healy, Laura Feely and Ciara O’Connor. Hooker Leah Lyons is also the member of the squad.
